Biography

Eli Effinger-Weintraub has been a writer since before she knew how to form letters (or so they tell her). She spent a remarkably unremarkable childhood in southwestern Michigan before moving to St. Paul, Minnesota to attend Macalester College and liking the area so much that the authorities can’t get her to leave.

Eli routinely dips her toe in playwriting, creative nonfiction, novel writing, and spoken-word memoir. She has written for the Minnesota Fringe Festival, Theatre Unbound, Patrick’s Cabaret, Seal Press, and Alyson Books. She is also a burgeoning green writer, with a special interest in renewable energy.

Eli lives in Minneapolis with her wife, visual artist Leora Effinger-Weintraub, and their painfully adorable cat, Mister Brown.
